Shawn Hunwick is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on April 9, 1987 in Sterling Heights, Michigan, United States. In the late part of September 2012 Hunwick received an invitation to attend the Providence Bruins’ training camp. On the 5th of October 2012 Hunwick got a chance to participate in the Bruins’ ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays. On the 7th of October Hunwick was the first player to play in his first game for the Stingrays playing a preseason game in which they played Gwinnett Gladiators. Gwinnett Gladiators. The Stingrays beat the Gladiators 5-1, and Hunwick won the game by securing 36 saves on 38 shots. Over the course of nine matches, Hunwick posted four wins before being transferred with the Utah Grizzlies on November 19 the 19th of November, 2012.

In July 2012, Hunwick signed a try-out contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League. Hunwick made his debut for the Red Bulls, replacing goalie Alex Auld in the third period of the second game of the European Trophy on August 19, 2012. Hunwick played for the entirety of the third period and allowed two goals.

Hunwick made his NHL debut, coming on to replace Mason for the final 2:33, in a 7–3 home victory over the New York Islanders, on April 7, 2012.

Hunwick only played two games for the Grizzlies before he was let go to go back to Europe and signed for the rest in the season 2012-13 the Iserlohn Roosters of the German DEL.

Hunwick was a player in his team the Michigan Wolverines in the CCHA. Hunwick was a part of in the club as a player in 2007-08, but was not given much playing time. After being redshirted for the 2008-09 season Hunwick was able to make his first appearance towards the end of the 2009-10 season following the team’s starter Bryan Hogan was injured against Notre Dame. Hunwick helped his team win winning the CCHA tournament championship, in which Hunwick was named tournament’s the tournament’s Most Valuable player (MVP). He was the team’s leader, leading the Wolverines to the NCAA tournament, the 20th time in a row, in which Michigan fell to Miami. In the following season, he guided his team in winning the NCAA finals, where they fell 3-2 in overtime to Minnesota-Duluth. In the year 2011-12 He was chosen as one of the 10 finalists to win Hobey Baker Award. On August 31, 2012, EC Red Bull Salzburg terminated Hunwick’s contract and he was released from the team after only playing in three games.
