Megyn Kelly Jokes About Her Busy Schedule After Today Firing!

Days after reaching her exit agreement with NBC, Megyn Kelly is now joking about her very busy schedule! As you remember, about three months ago, the TV personality lost her gig on Today after making some controversial comments about blackface.

In a statement released on January, 11, the network announced that ‘The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC.’

The Hollywood Reporter claims Kelly is set to be paid the remaining $69 million, just like she was promised in her contract.

And since she will also no longer be held to a non-compete clause, Megyn Kelly is totally free to start a new job somewhere else right away.

But before that, Kelly is doing jury duty, it seems.

She took to social media to announce it, and joked about her unemployment situation saying: ‘About to begin jury duty this morning. Slightly concerned about the effectiveness of the ‘I’m far too busy’ excuse this time.’

Back in October, around Halloween, the topic of using blackface for accurate costumes came up, and Megyn argued that there should be no problem with that.

Obviously, a lot more people disagreed and were outraged by her comments.

She was fired soon after even though she apologized and assured her audience that she was informed why that would be wrong and came to understand it herself.

One spokesperson for the network announced at the time that ‘Megyn Kelly Today is not returning. Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other Today co-anchors.’

That being said, Dylan Dreyer revealed earlier this month that she would be co-hosting the segment alongside Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin.
