Congratulations on your recent success and rising star status in the tech house and techno scene! How did your journey in music production and DJing begin, and what inspired you to pursue this path?

Thanks so much. When I was a teenager I was singing with different artists and producers. Trying to co-ordinate schedules sometimes felt like the hardest part to finishing tracks, so I decided I needed to be able to write my own music and that’s how my producing goals started. I had a lot of friends who were DJ’ing growing up, on Vinyl and CDJ’s and I’d take any opportunity they gave me to play around. Then, In 2012 I attended my first DJ program.

Your unique fusion of vocals with tough, club-ready beats has garnered a lot of attention. Can you tell us more about your creative process when producing tracks and how you achieve this distinctive sound?

Vocals are really important to me, tone, delivery. When I’m choosing tracks for my sets sometimes a word or inflection can be the deciding factor of whether I want to play it or not, I try to be as picky with the music I create. Bass is so crucial in dance music and sometimes what works in a festival system will not sound nearly as good in other venues or in other speakers so there is a lot to consider when making a track in terms of subtle frequencies. Where it is intended to be played and those kinds of things.

Graduating from the Toolroom Academy and completing advanced courses in Ableton with Point Blank Music School is impressive. How have these educational experiences contributed to your growth as an artist, and what were some key lessons you learned during your studies?

I think I’m a music student for life. At least with production it feels like the more I learn the more I want to know. I love learning about the different ways people do their processes. Getting inside the minds of composers and engineers who have dedicated 30+ years to their craft. Studying different genres and understanding how theory ties everything together. Music is a language and like everything there is the technical side and the creativity. When you learn the rules you learn how to break them well. This is of course not necessary to make songs or DJ but I nerd out on it and am inspired of people who have accumulated so much more information than me.

With your diverse background and musical experiences, how do you believe they have influenced your production and DJing style? How do you manage to maintain a balance between different genres while still staying true to your sound?

I’m focusing on music I like to play in my DJ sets. And that is heavy, vocal infused, percussion packed, bassy tech house and techno. I like to pull sounds I have an affection for such as steel drums or violin or African or Indian inspired instruments sometimes but I’m keeping it in the tech house genre/techno genres right now. That way I can draw on different cultures or experiences I’ve had a lot of exposure to and not stray too far from what I like to play out.

You’ve performed at various international venues and alongside renowned artists. Is there a particular gig or collaboration that stands out as a highlight of your career so far? Could you share some memorable moments from that experience?

I really love the sound system in Eden in Ibiza it was one of the first times I played on the island and will always stand out in my mind. Some of my best friends were there so that always makes it even better. Opening for Rebuke at Forbidden Forest Bunker in 2022 was another one. I’m a big fan of his sets and production.

Your DJ performances are known for bringing movement and dance to the audience, creating an infectious vibe. How do you engage with the crowd during your sets, and what do you enjoy most about performing live?

The cliché ‘dance like no one’s watching’ really applies during my sets. I’ve always loved dancing in raves and clubs, a lot of the time I’d leave my friends and dance at the front trying to see what is the DJ doing and get on their vibe. One of my favourite things is dropping tracks people have never heard. There is something so special about hearing a great song for the first time. It’s a moment you may remember forever.

“Confidence” was a massive hit on Beatport Hype, and you have an impressive lineup of festival bookings across the UK and Europe. How do you prepare for such high-profile performances, and how do you feel about sharing stages with some of the industry’s biggest names?

I take into consideration my time-slot and who else is playing the stage when I’m preparing a set or playlist of tracks I may want to play. But ultimately I play what gets me hyped because that energy is contagious. I play for the dancers, the ones that are feeling it the most because they in turn get the whole crowd going.

As an artist on the rise, how do you handle the pressure of maintaining momentum and continuously releasing new music? Can you give us any insights into your upcoming projects or collaborations?

Quality over quantity is what I’m going for. Trying to be really careful that the music I put out is something I am happy to play and hear over and over and over for years. I’m really only focusing now on releasing songs that I’m still proud of far down the road. I’m sure my tastes and style will evolve and change but great music should stand the test of time. If it means spending days or weeks on a track and then letting it go so be it. I have several more releases scheduled for this year in the Tech House and heavier Techno genre as well as a really special project I’m working on over the summer that I’ll be announcing in the fall.

Your journey in the music industry has been filled with growth and success. What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are just starting and looking to make their mark in the electronic music scene?

Stay true to your sound, develop it, work on it and hone it. Collaborate with people who inspire you creatively but don’t let yourself be swayed in a direction that doesn’t feel true to who you are and how you want to show up artistically.

Finally, where can your fans and listeners connect with you online and stay updated on your latest releases, gigs, and updates?
